Introduction
This guide will provide you with steps to deploy and enroll Windows devices through Autopilot.
This process is typically used to customize the out-of-box experience (OOBE) for users.
Accessing Windows Autopilot
Please follow the steps below and use the reference article in the next section if any issues arise.
- Navigate to the Intune admin center and sign-in: Microsoft Intune admin center
- Navigate to Devices > Enroll Devices

- At the bottom we can see multiple options involving Windows Autopilot:

Autopilot Devices
- Within the Devices tab we can see all devices that are setup for Windows Autopilot. Certain device manufacturers can gain access to your Azure environment and add the devices on your behalf before they are shipped to you (indicated by the “Partner Upload” tag). Devices may also manually be added via the “Import” button.
- Click on a devices serial number to view/edit the device name, tag and see the associated Intune device, if applicable
Instructions for manually importing devices to Autopilot may be found here: Manually register devices with Windows Autopilot
Deployment Profiles
- Within the Deployment Profiles tab this is where we can create profiles to customize the OOBE for users.
- Create a name and description for the new profile and mark Yes to convert all targeted devices to Autopilot to ensure they go through Autopilot scenario
- Next configure your desired steps and what you wish users to see or not see. Make sure to use User-Driven deployment mode and Microsoft Entra Joined as there is no on-prem AD in this environment:

- Choose the groups you wish to apply this deployment profile to
- Review and Create
Enrollment Status Page
Here we can create a custom enrollment status page, the page that appears during the initial device setup and during first user sign in.
- Select Create and add a name and description
- Choose whether or not to allow users to see the app and profile configuration process. This is helpful to turn on for admin troubleshooting only, but otherwise should be left off:

- Assign group membership and tags if desired
- Review and Create
